101 in 1001, Reconsidered

It's been nearly a year and a half since I last posted on this blog. The neglect! It's shameful.

Looking back on this 101 in 1001 I'm struck with how very different my life is now than it was when I first wrote these goals. With that in mind, I think it's time for an update. I'm going to restart my 101 in 1001 today, but first I'll take some inventory on the original goals to see what I actually managed to accomplish.

Here's the original list, for future reference:

* Learn
* 1. Become fluent enough in Spanish to watch and understand soap operas
* 2. Learn guitar well enough to play the major campfire songs
* 3. Develop calligraphy skills at a professional level
* 4. Become conversationally fluent in Hebrew
* 5. Take a creative writing course (teaching it doesn’t count)
* 6. Take a pottery class (and attend every single session this time)

* 9. Lead an international teen community service program in the summer IN PROGRESS
* 10. Visit Berlin with DH (and possibly mom?)

* 14. Visit a really small, charming southern American town.

* 18. Plan girls’ weekend away with mom
* 19. Take a long-distance train trip to somewhere new in the country
* 20. Go on a camping trip with DH and friends

* 22. Go on a bicycling trip
* 23. Visit Napa Valley ~or~ the Canadian Rockies with DH

* 24. Show DH at least one measurable sign of my affection every month

* 27. Keep up our Christmas Eve Chanukah Celebration Pizza Throwdown tradition, invite more guests each year DONE

* 77. Sell off all unnecessary stuff UPDATE: Working on it. But nobody wants to buy my crap!
* 78. Give quality water bottles as gifts for plastic bottle abusers
* 79. Give reusable bags as gifts for plastic bag abusers
* 80. Always bring my reusable bags to stores, not just for groceries DONE!
* 81. Participate in a Habitat for Humanity program
* 82. Get Bai certified as a therapy dog

* 85. Learn to meditate, then practice regularly

* 96. Use debt snowball to eliminate all of our non-mortgage debt
* 97. Save one entire year’s worth of living expenses to have, just in case
* 98. Automate all of our bill payments
* 99. Spend no more than $50 per week on groceries
* 100. Budget pocket money for each week and stick to budget
* 101. Eat out only one time per week
